About Dr. Flake
Dr. Jasmine Flake has been in dental offices since she was a child, helping out at the front desk of her mother’s family practice growing up. She has always loved how dentistry allows her to meet all different types of people and get to know them, as well as their families, over the course of their lifetimes.
Dr. Flake’s goal is for each person to leave the office feeling like they learned something about their mouth. To her, patients should have a full understanding of their treatment plan and be a partner in decision-making for their own dental health.
For her part, Dr. Flake is committed to staying on top of the latest techniques and technologies so that her patients are receiving the highest-quality care—not doing so would be an injustice her patients, she says. She goes out of her way to first get to know patients personally and understand their long-term goals, then continues to educate on proper oral health practices throughout their visits. She’s known and loved for her honest and open communication.
Dr. Flake particularly enjoys the creative and artistic aspects of biomimetic dentistry, which aims to preserve tooth structure while mimicking the natural form and function of teeth as closely as possible. She goes the extra mile to make sure things not only function at their best but look good.
She loves her work as a dentist because she walks away every day knowing she made a difference in people’s lives. The most rewarding aspect of her job is making people more comfortable in the dentist’s chair—and then, more confident in their smile in their everyday lives.
I am treating a human, first—not just a mouth.
Dr. Flake is passionate about using her skills in dentistry to care for underserved patients. After a deeply meaningful experience volunteering with a dental outreach organization at an elementary school in the Philippines, where many of the patients had never before seen a dentist, she now volunteers to provide free dental care for the community in San Francisco. When she’s not practicing dentistry, she loves to dance, play tennis, and volunteer with Family Dog Rescue.
At Young Dental SF Group we are on the cutting edge of patient care. In 2018 we moved into our new State of Art Facility. Dr. Jasmine Flake will discuss some of our technology to be used during your dentistry and hygiene visits. She will also discuss our technology to keep you safe during the COVID19 Pandemic.
Dr. Jasmine Flake has been providing excellent care at our office for the last year. She is a graduate of the University of Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry where she is also a Faculty in the Restorative Department. She is a leader of Education with the California Dental Association.
