About Dr. Matsuhara
Dr. Matsuhara grew up exploring the arts through ceramics and painting. She knew she wanted to work in healthcare from a young age and found dentistry to be the perfect combination of all her passions: hands-on work that’s based in the sciences while allowing her to interact with and get to know people on a personal level.
She’s always been passionate about oral education—in dental school, she participated in an outreach trip to the Philippines to help with cleanings, extractions, and teaching. Now, she says the most rewarding moments in her work are when patients want to be a little nerdy about prevention practices and oral health, and she’s able to spend extra time teaching them.
Dr. Matsuhara allows each patient to be an active participant in boosting their oral health. When a new patient comes to her, the goal is to figure out a plan for them to be in the chair as little as possible, she says. At-home preventive measures can be easy and impactful steps towards overall wellness.
At Young Dental SF, Dr. Matsuhara has all the tools to provide this level of comprehensive, evidence-based care in a comfortable environment. With intraoral cameras and state-of-the art equipment for use at every appointment, she makes sure her patients are seeing what she sees. She wants every patient to understand what is causing any condition that may come up—and how, together, they are tackling it.
Patients love Dr. Matsuhara’s pleasant yet enthusiastic, detail-oriented yet efficient style of care. She’s deeply compassionate and focused on not only on getting patients out of pain and on the path to optimal oral health, but bringing them a smile that they love.
My goal is for patients to be in my chair as little as possible.
